Artner - Ried Kirchweingarten 1ÖTW | Carnuntum Blaufränkisch

Red wine | Austria, NIEDERÖSTERREICH | 2019
This cherry-red Blaufränkisch has an aromatic nose with dark red fruit, blackberries and blackcurrants. The generous aromas are supported by an oak wood touch. On the palate, we enjoy pure and intense fruit flavours, fresh acidity and a fine tannic structure. A lively and balanced wine of the highest level!

Ried Kirchweingarten is a gently sloping south-facing hillside directly below the church of Höflein. The vineyard is covered by silty clay Pannonian (upper Miocene) deposits, and partially by layers of loess - and these clay deposits are quite rare in Carnuntum. The soils are deep and very rich in Lime, yielding wines that are characterised by their pithiness, fresh acidity and firm structure.

About Weingut Artner

All vineyards of Weingut Artner are located in Carnuntum (Lower Austria), a wine-growing region situated on the banks of the Danube River between the cities of Vienna and Bratislava (Slovakia). The history of the winery dates back to the mid-17th century. Since 1980, the family has stepped up their game and focused on producing authentic quality wines with character. Weingut Artner is run by 2 brothers and their nephew: Hannes, Peter, and Christoph. The total vineyard counts 40 hectares and is, since the 2021 vintage, organically certified.
